1. One in seven curries that are sold in the UK is Chicken Tikka Masala, which makes it the UK’s favourite Indian dish. However, did you know that Chicken Tikka Masala is not actually an Indian dish? It was invented in Glasgow, Scotland!
2. India is called the Land of Spices, because it’s the only country in the world that produces as many varieties of different spices (over 70% of the world’s spices come from India).
3. Potato, tomato and chilli are the staple ingredients of Indian cuisine but did you know that they were brought to India by Portuguese?
